Overview
The Director, Finance, Integrated Business Planning (IBP) will play a role as an integrator, specifically in the product, demand, and supply review activities of the overall IBP process. The incumbent with play a leadership role in building integrity in the operational forecast and defining gap-to-close actions with financial implications. The central role of finance in IBP enables visibility and accountability for the financial outcome. It becomes part of leading the business, not only in day-to-day activity but also in commercial strategies and solutions that drive better results. This position will report to the Senior Vice President, North America Finance and partner with the Supply Chain and Business Unit teams.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Act as a co-pilot and financial business partner to the Supply Chain and Business Unit teams through the following:
- Serve as the finance lead on the IBP project with a key role as integrator in the product, demand and supply review activities of the overall IBP process
- Play the role of orchestrator to drive consensus and accountability on gap-to-close actions aligned to business strategy
- Validate assumptions to project future sales of new products and the cost of manufacturing or discontinuing a product
- Compare the product plan to the annual budget to identify the impact of revenue estimates on the financial results
- Partner with Demand Planning to define a standard template of the operational inputs needed, including the level of granularity
- Pressure-test the operational assumptions in the demand plan for accuracy with consideration given to macroeconomic drivers and validate and correct any demand bias in the forecast
- Play an active role in supply chain planning with attention given from a finance perspective on manufacturing capacity, logistics capabilities, and the supplier’s ability to deliver
- Develop, implement, monitor, and report on cross-functional KPIs to ensure effective execution, integration, and performance of IBP process
- Work cross-functionally to ensure emphasis is given to quantify operational plans and decisions in financial KPIs, revenue, cost, and profitability, enabling the company to make better trade-off decisions supporting the business strategy
- Ensure the output from the IBP process is properly incorporated into the Annual Operating Plan, monthly/quarterly forecasts and reflected on Risk & Opportunity ledger
- Help IBP project team create and document process, job tasks and define ways of working in the new IBP process
- Partner with IT to develop data structure to ensure the financial forecast is seamlessly loaded to the financial planning & reporting tool (Essbase) with ability to create necessary reporting and analysis
- Manage and track achievement of IBP project deliverables/assumptions (e.g. inventory reduction, reduction of discards, service level improvement, etc.)
- Establish monthly discipline to deliver business results through orchestration of IBP processes, gap identification and longer-range preventative measures
- Create an inclusive culture and environment driving/sustaining change within the organization through stakeholder management and developing/implementing organizational-wide training sessions on new IBP process
- Develop cross-functional teams through training and coaching serving as a subject matter expert and ambassador of the new IBP process
Qualifications:
- Minimum of seven years of experience in business-facing finance role, preferably in the Consumer-Packaged Goods industry
- Bachelor’s degree with emphasis in Finance, Accounting, or other area of Business Administration
- Experience in brand finance, supply chain finance or financial planning & analysis (FP&A) required with knowledge and experience with IBP / S&OP process
- Excellent analytical and financial problem-solving skills
- Ability to deal with ambiguity, change and a dynamic business environment
- Excellent organizational skills, ability to prioritize tasks and meet constant deadlines with strong attention to detail
- Proactive and driven with intellectual curiosity and a desire to learn
- Ability to build strong cross-functional relationships and develop teams
- Very strong interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills
- Work with minimal supervision execute for results in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to manage and prioritize work and a sense of urgency is critical
- Advanced computer and database management skills required with proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Working knowledge of JD Edwards, Hyperion Essbase, Business Objects, and Prism preferred
Compensation and Benefits:
