Overview

The Maintenance Supervisor coordinates activities of workers engaged in setting up, installing, repairing, and maintaining machinery and equipment within an assigned processing area. The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for the efficient performance of the equipment, identify training opportunities and foster a continuous improvement environment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provides direction and work plans for all maintenance staff within assigned area/shift
  • Ensures all safety rules are following to ensure health of assigned maintenance technicians
  • Monitors quality of repairs, maintenance, and installation of machines inclusive of maintenance on all tools, and equipment.
  • Interfaces with plant management on coordination for repairs and root cause determination inclusive of regular follow-ups on completed projects
  • Performs daily preventative maintenance as per machinery service requirements.
  • Use problems solving skills and root cause analysis to resolve and/or mitigate maintenance issues.
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Minimum three years’ experience in a Maintenance Technician role in a manufacturing environment or related capacity
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Previous Maintenance Supervisor experience in a food manufacturing environment preferred
  • Understanding of predictive and preventative maintenance processes required
  • Project management — ability to see job through to completion with attention to detail in a timely manner.
  • Ability to work within a team concept. Flexibility is an asset.
  • Strong machining and welding skills are desirable.
  • Strong safety record.
  • Good attendance and dependability a must.
  • Must have computer skills to look up part location/availability on computer using maintenance software.
  • Ability to communicate with other mechanics and be able to explain mechanical processes and theory.
  • Ability to meet attendance guidelines and work additional hours/OT as needed.
  • Ability to maintain an effective working relationship with all contacts both inside and outside the company.
  • Ability to work various shifts, weekends, and overtime as required
  • Oversees assigned maintenance technicians
